Job Description:

Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related-device manufacturing and perform functional and performance verification of microprocessor designs.  Duties include: utilize engineering and design methodologies and verification flows for design verification; analyze technical data and document key findings related to functionality and performance of AMD’s products; develop comprehensive test plans and/or quality checks; write test cases and test bench components to verify functionality or performance; use required technologies and standard engineering methodologies to debug issues related to functionality and performance; contribute to specific technical projects of moderate complexity for enhancing existing AMD technology and new product initiatives; and communicate progress reports of project assignments to senior engineers and key internal stakeholders.

Degree required: 

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely-related field.

Amount and type of experience required:

Six (6) months in the job offered or in a closely related engineering role, or as an Intern, Graduate Assistant, or Research Assistant.

Skills required:

Position requires education or experience with the following technologies and/or skills: Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL; C, C++, Python, Perl, TCL, or Shell; Computer Architecture or VLSI Design; and RTL Verification, RTL Simulations, coherence protocols, interconnect and memory system design, or design flows/methodologies for chip verification.

Employer will accept skills gained in pursuit of university-level degree via coursework, research projects, fellowships and/or internships.  Skills may be gained concurrently.
