THE ROLE:
Join the AECG Customer & Strategy Engineering (CSE) team as a Senior FPGA Designer, where you’ll contribute your expertise in FPGA design to deliver cutting-edge acceleration technologies. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with architecture, design verification (DV), software, and account teams to ensure successful solutions tailored to customer needs.
THE PERSON:
The person you're looking for is an experienced, highly skilled senior FPGA designer with a strong background in FPGA development, particularly for data center applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with customers and CSE architects to define solution specifications for technologies like DMA, RDMA, SmartNIC, Open vSwitch, and Virtio.
- Design and implement the architecture based on these specifications, guiding junior engineers in block design assignments.
- Take ownership of the solution development cycle, ensuring that FPGA RTL coding, solution verification, and hardware/software validation are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
- Partner with internal engineering teams, account teams, and field application engineers (FAEs) to promote and integrate AMD FPGA solutions.
- Assist in delivering solutions to customers, providing the support they need to successfully adopt and master the technology.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (12+ years of experience) or Master’s degree (10+ years of experience) in FPGA development or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with data center FPGAs or FPGA-based accelerators.
- Familiarity with data center technologies such as SmartNIC, PCIe, DMA/RDMA, Virtio, OVS, NVMe.
- Understanding of networking protocols like 802.3, VLAN, VxLAN, TCP, UDP, IP, RoCEv2, QoS (Traffic Management, Congestion Control).
- Knowledge of Linux kernel software is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with a customer-focused mindset and a collaborative approach.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with more than 10+ year experience
