Silicon Validation Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

The AI Group at AMD is looking for dynamic and energetic Silicon Validation Engineers. You will work on industry leading Data Center GPU products for AI and HPC supercomputers.  This role focuses on the SOC IPs involved in high bandwidth data transfer and system level features, like RAS and power/performance.  Our team fosters continuous innovation and is committed to nurturing you career growth.

 

THE PERSON:

A collaborative problem solver capable in test content creation and execution of Silicon Validation.  You will need to solve problems as a team tackling challenges from our highly integrated SOC architecture responsible for memory translations, QoS, caching, and error handling (to name a few).  You should feel comfortable to be hands-on with Linux-based data center platforms in the labs. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Data Center GPU Validation Engineer, you will be engaged from pre-silicon to post-silicon, with opportunities in emulation verification, power-on, validation, debug, and customer deployment.  You will have ownership of an IP block related to caching, coherency, data traffic, RAS, and power & performance.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Own end to end validation of IPs in post-silicon
  • RAS enablement on targeted IPs within the SOC / System
  • Hands-on execution on data center platforms for test and debug
  • Lead diverse teams through debug efforts for issues found
  • Develop procedures for validation and debug
  • Develop automation code in Python
  • Interface with HW/FW design teams
  • Meet critical program milestones for customer deliverables
  • Technical reporting to communicate program status
  • Build end-to-end test strategy from pre- to post-silicon
  • Continuous improvements to time-to-market and time-to-quality

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Test or design implementation experience in Graphics / CPU Hardware
  • Relevant experience with computer data traffic concepts
    • Traffic Queues and Caching
    • Memory mapping and allocation
    • Resource arbitration
    • Coherency
    • Traffic performance and latency
  • Experience developing HPC/ML applications or HW exercisers
  • Strong Linux and coding skills (C/C++, Python, Ubuntu)
  • Must have strong analytical skills for test creation and debug
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Experience in Data Center Industry a valuable asset

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
