The world’s leading game engine is looking for brilliant engineers for our Site Reliability Engineering organization. Unity customers don’t like service disruptions, and neither do we. Our mission is to manage production incidents... with technology. We build automation to measure, detect, and prevent production issues. When needed, we use experience and communication to work with other teams to resolve issues manually, and then make sure it doesn’t happen again!
What you'll be doing
- Monitor, administer, and provide troubleshooting support for our complex hosting environments that deliver seamless in-game voice communication to millions of players. Collaborate deeply with a cross functional team of Server and Platform Engineers, Software Developers and Engineers, and Customer Operation Engineers.
- Evaluate system performance and trends, and adjust capacity as needed, and/or make recommendations for risk mitigation. Sysadmin tasks managing 100s - 1000s of Centos-based servers.
- This includes the bottom to top environment from disk/network to configuring and diagnosing application issues. Creating new clusters of servers utilizing automation tools including Puppet, Hiera-data, on 'bare metal' servers, Cloud and in-house Openstack instances.
- On-site working in datacenter(s) when required - Network/vlan configuration, server Kickstarting and OS deployment. Project work advancing and/or developing tools in support of the DevOps and Site Reliability functions.
- This includes monitoring, metrics gathering, and dashboard displays. On-call rotation for delivering the industry leading Service Level Agreement levels to customers.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
- Must have knowledge of the following:
- Sysadmin;
- Project work advancing or developing tools in support of the Site Reliability functions;
- On-call response;
- Automation work to scale service;
- Cross functional teamwork during a software development life cycle.
