SMTS FIRMWARE ENGINEER 

 

THE ROLE: 

We are looking for an seasoned engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, you will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in leading the designs and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.  

 

THE PERSON: 

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead Engineer responsible for architecting, documenting, designing, developing, testing,  debugging, verifying and/or validating firmware.
  • Lead day-to-day firmware requirements gathering, architecture and development, cross-functional collaboration and delivery of integrated firmware solutions.
  • Support all platforms and programs with fimware responsible for multi-tasking applications running in a deeply embedded context. 
  • Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 15+ years of experience in firmware development including pre- and post silicon.
  • Deep understanding of general RTOS concepts including Secure RTOS understanding.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded FW development best practices and expert level C language programing
  • Experience with MMU and/or PMP, AXI protocol, and Low-level ISA programming, and real-time application performance optimization.
  • Strong analytical, debug, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of FPGA concepts and workflow,
  • Understanding of hardware and software system integration.
  • Strong user of Linux and scripting in BASH, Python, etc
  • Experience with FW integration testing and debug in pre and post silicon.
  • Knowledge of verification flows including System Verilog, UVM and Emulation.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, excellent attention to detail, and good coding skills are required. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
