SMTS Functional Safety Manager 

 

THE ROLE: 

As Functional Safety Manager, part of AMD Functional Safety team, you will be directly impacting the certification of key AMD products, targeting critical AMD growth markets such as digital cockpit and autonomous driving. You will perform this in collaboration with cross functional teams within AMD.
This role will require understanding of safety standards and System/SOC architecture within the automotive and industrial markets also project management skills.
We are seeking an engineer to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using
effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, and employ critical thinking are well-suited for our team. 
 

 

THE PERSON: 

This AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team is looking for a senior level person that can help guide the team, mentor upcoming developers, provide long range strategy, and is willing to jump in to help resolve issues quickly. You are open minded and positive as you will be involved in all areas that impact the team including performance, automation, and development.  The right candidate will be informed on the latest trends and become prepared to give consultative direction to senior management.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Contribute to the Implementation of Functional Safety Process based on ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 through the organization
  • Support in planning, documenting and reporting the safety activities and work products in a Safety Plan
  • Participate in end-to-end design traceability across the product development cycle (establish relationship between requirement and tests)
  • As part of FuSa team participate as a representative with architect and design team meetings (for example when performing FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, etc for guidance)
  • Participate in assessing and determining compliance to the safety standards
  • Be contributor of the implementation of work products aligned to the ISO26262 and IEC 61508 standards like safety analysis, safety manual, safety case etc
  • Participate in evaluations of proposed technical solutions (in decided architecture)

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Exposure to systems architecture 
  • Experience with the ISO26262  and IEC 61508 standards is a plus
  • Experience with requirements management tool like JAMA, Doors, Polarion is a plus
  • Experience in the testing and verification methodologies is a plus
  • Awareness of safety architecture of SOCs including definition of safety concepts

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Mechatronic Engineering or a closely related field
