THE ROLE
Signal integrity engineer works with customer and designer developing server platform, enabling customer simulation capability, and solving SI problems.
THE PERSON
Strong SI knowledge and system development experience in server platform
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with customers and internal design teams to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize design performance/ risk/ cost/ manufacturability
- Performing HSIO simulation risk assessment including DDR, PCIe, XGMI, USB, SATA, etc.
- Developing simulation collateral including methodology, simulation models, simulation tools, PHY capability, etc.
- Validating simulation collateral from simulation prediction to system validation
- Analyzing and reviewing HSIO design
- Driving next generation design specification
- Driving simulation flow enhancements and automation - improving performance and efficiency
JOB REQUIREMENT
- 6+ years of signal integrity HSIO simulation experience in server platforms with a BS or MS in related field
- Familiar with server architecture, HSIO design, and SERDES/DDR5 validation
- Familiar with time domain and frequency domain simulation tools such as: HFSS, SIWAVE, ADS, Seasim, and S2eye
- Excellent knowledge of SI design techniques, implementation, and simulation including S-parameter analysis and VNA/PNA measurement
- Excellent knowledge of HSIO board design such as DDR, PCIe/CLK, XGMI, USB, and SATA
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret simulation and lab data to identify issues and provide solutions to fix those problems
- Good at making design tradeoffs to provide optimal solution to meet cost and time to market requirements
- Experience driving a project to completion, documenting design, actions, and minutes
- Strong communication and documentation skills including skills to manage without authority
- Team player. Be able to share knowledge, learn from others, and support other groups within an organization
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Excellent SI model extraction skills of SIWAVE, HFSS, 3DLayout, etc.
- Python programming skill for data analytics is a plus.
- Ansys AEDT automation programming skill is a plus.
- Understanding PNA/VNA PCB de-embedded methods is a plus.
- DDR5 design, validation, debug, and protocol experience is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Master's or PhD in Physics, Communications Engineering, and Electronic Engineering. Or relevant industry experience in signal integrity field.
