THE ROLE:
The Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing (DCGPU) organization is excited to hire a highly skilled individual that can provide leadership for building up successful GPU platform with key partners/customers. This role will need to drive early proof of concept engagement, and hands on work with ODM/OEM partners/customers during product/platform development phase, provide Thermal/Mechanical review and recommendations based on the design required. The individual will also need to work with internal global team for platform Thermal/Mechanical and debug the complex problems that arise during validation phases.
THE PERSON:
A highly motivated self-starter, good manage interaction with partners/customers. Person has to have experience in Thermal/Mechanical design, bringing up and validate complex CPU/GPUs in a system. Have leadership skills in driving complex issues/problems and provide insight into not only designs but debug of complex system level problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Thermal/Mechanical design review ,recommendation and validation support for partner/customer's platform using AMD DC GPU solution and throughout successful product launch
- Work with customers and help customers to resolve or provide the technical recommendations of Thermal/Mechanical related issues.
- Lead working on the bring-up of a partner/customer's GPU subsystem for given systems or platforms
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years' experience of Thermal/Mechanical design
- Silicon-level thermal sensing and control features and architecture, thermal solution feasibility analysis and scoping that reside in Data Centers (GPU)
- Strong system level debugging skill from Thermal/Mechanical
- Experience in working directly with local ODM partner or key OEM/CSP customers and drive Thermal/Mechanical concerns and enabling them to production.
- Team player with passion and willing to do whatever it takes for business success with a keen sense of urgency and strong drive.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Communication, teamwork and problem solving, Excellent verbal and written communication skills at the engineering and executive levels, including a proven track record of working across organization boundaries to define requirements, solve complex problems and drive programs to successful completion
- Manufacturing: Good knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), including experience with volume manufacturing in Asia as well as North America.
- Leadership and Communication skills are mandatory as individual will be in top level customer relation technical discussions
- Able to work as a team and work efficiently in a dynamic environment and on multiple projects
- Very strong English skills required – verbal and written
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Master’s, relevant experience in an electronics cooling related mechanical engineering role
