THE ROLE:
Technical, hands-on engineer with leadership qualities responsible for Datacenter Server SoC Post-Silicon platform validation to ensure continuous healthiness and stability at the system level up through BIOS, system firmware, and OS levels for post-launched AMD Server products. The individual will work with Customer Engineering, FW, Validation and SW teams to develop test plans, system configurations, execution plans, and debug of server CPU platform features and ingredients. This role is both breadth and depth at the server platform level.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating problems, solutions, and project status up to the executive level. You will provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers and influence others as a technical leader. You have the capability assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives, while dealing with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with multiple stakeholders in customer engineering and functional teams to align on sustaining regression plans for post launched server products.
- Develop and execute post-launch regression plans for across all the AMD server products.
- Report out and be the go-to person for regression testing of AMD’s post launched server products.
- Triage and help drive closure of issues found with sense of urgency.
- Be adaptive and alert to coverage misses and work with stakeholders to incorporate tests cases to close gaps.
- Able to traverse and make decisions at the macro level affecting the program and adapt by forgetting the past, managing the present and build the future, but also at micro level being hands on to debug and enable and set up servers by role modeling servant leadership.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with PC architecture and microprocessor cores
- Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture is highly desired.
- Experience developing validation methodologies and infrastructure.
- Test plan and test development experience
- Participated in silicon bring up and debug, support to internal engineering teams
- Debug skills at both SoC and system level
- Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...)
- Working knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows)
- Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance
- Forward thinker that drives improvement to development process, automation architecture and fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement
- A passion for building teams and solving tough problems will be a added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Self-organizing and the ability multitask based on priorities.
- Experience leading teams either directly or indirectly in any capacity.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines
- 10+ years of experience in SoC platform validation and debug.
