SMTS SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER
As a member of the Client Performance Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the performance verification and optimization of AMD’s next generation APUs. This position will involve developing and executing SOC-level RTL verification testplans to ensure that AMD’s products achieve performance goals. It will also involve the development of tools and methodologies for running tests, evaluating results and debugging issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, document and execute RTL verification testplans for evaluating SOC performance
- Identify performance bottlenecks and evaluate potential improvements
- Work with architects and designers to debug functional and performance issues
- Generate performance summary reports
- Execute architectural studies to evaluate new features and performance optimizations
- Develop, maintain and support performance verification infrastructure, including models, scripts, analysis tools, etc.
Skills and Experience Requirements
Some or all of the following qualifications are strongly preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience with ASIC hardware design and verification languages/tools (Verilog, System Verilog, System C, OVM/OVC)
- Proficiency with programming and scripting languages (C/C++, Perl, Python, etc.)
- Microarchitecture knowledge of a CPU, GPU, DSP, multimedia co-processor, I/O subsystem, and/or DRAM controller
