Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring SMTS Systems Design Eng.to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for commercial use employing knowledge of electronic theory. Develop technology for pre-silicon functional validation tests to verify systems and meet design requirements. Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system, or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise wide judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
For either combination of education and experience, position requires three (3) years of experience with the following technologies and/or skills:

• Python, C, C++, Perl, or TCL;
• X-86 Architecture, SOC Architecture, or Computer Architecture;
• UVM, System Verilog, VHDL, or Verilog;
• functional verification of microprocessors or design flows and methodologies for chip verification; and
• RTL design and coding.

Experience may be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of experience, education, or training.
