SMTS SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER
AMD, Inc., is hiring SMTS Systems Design Engineers to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for commercial use employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design complete & complex frameworks, systems and/or products. Duties include: define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility;analyze complex technical data and drive problem solving and engineering solutions initiatives to resolve issues in development of AMDs processors and related semiconductor products; develop comprehensive post-silicon validation plan and infrastructure; lead collaborative efforts with other engineers to identify and debug root-causes of issues related to functionality and performance; work with cross organization teams to ensure all electronic components and software features comprising AMD products are in sync, development is supported, and validation is planned; show technical leadership in complex projects related to enhancing existing AMD technology and new product initiatives; communicate the status of technical projects to senior members of the team and key external and internal stakeholders; and mentor less experienced members of technical staff in solving complex problems related to the systems design of AMD products.

Degree required:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Foreign equivalent degree accepted.
Amount and type of experience required: 2 years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

• Perl or Python;
• Designing circuit board schematics using Cadence tools;
• Post silicon validation;
• Circuit design and characterization; and
• Circuit simulation tools.
