THE ROLE: 

The focus of this role is to analyze, architect, specify, and collaborate to develop IPs and Features for AMD's next-gen Adaptive SoC products.   

THE PERSON: 

You have a passion for modern, complex SoC architecture, heterogenous processor systems and digital design & verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other architects & engineers located in different sites/time-zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop novel SoC architecture solutions.
• Run benchmark (e.g. SpecInt) and analyze results for PPA tradeoffs
• Define next-gen SoCs incl.  processor system, cache, interconnect, I/O and memory subsystems.
• Define architecture specifications in a clear and concise language 
• Work with architects, design/verification, and software teams for development of IPs and products

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Strong foundation in SoC architecture and processor systems
• Strong analytical problem solving, and attention to details
• Working knowledge of C, SystemC, and Python preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of CPU, AXI Interconnect, and I/O peripherals
• Knowledge of heterogenous SoC, FPGA, and ML/AI accelerators preferred
• Experience in micro-architecture and digital design/verification
• Exposure to performance modeling and analysis is desired 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• BS or MS or PhD degree in Computer, Electrical or Equivalent Engineering
• Relevant work/research experience preferred
