SENIOR SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER 

 

GPU SoC Performance Architect

We are looking for a strong technical contributor to help optimize performance of AMD-based next-generation GPU and Accelerators for HPC and Machine Learning! As a hardworking and dedicated GPU Performance Architect in the SOC Performance Team, you will collaborate with other Performance Architects to seek opportunities for optimizing Performance across all parts of system architecture spanning the GPU cores, Memory subsystem & I/O. You will model architectural tradeoffs, analyze performance characteristics and profile workloads to isolate performance bottlenecks. You will share these insights with key system architects to help drive features into the next generation of GPUs and software stack components.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Possesses broad technical knowledge, imaginative thinking and sophisticated analytical techniques
  • Solves complex problems within large projects by implementing important technical decisions
  • Deals with problems requiring innovative approaches that may require modifications to standard processes
  • Is expected to implement important technical decisions with a technical time horizon of generally 1 to 3 months
  • Work closely with other team members to understand design architecture and to propose solutions to improve/enhance performance with given SoC/IP and markets.
  • Architectural modeling, performance triage, deeper analysis, identifying bottlenecks working with architects and proposing solutions for performance improvement.
  • Developing tools and methodology for performance modeling, workloads analysis.
  • Proposing, communicating and implementing solutions to issues.
  • Participate in collaborative development and workload performance optimization with AMD’s partners/customers.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Solid foundation in computer architecture, memory, storage and I/O subsystems
  • Proficient in Unix, C++, and Scripting languages such as Python
  • Strong Software Engineering skills, and experience working with Version-controlled software systems in a co-operative environment
  • Academic or Industry Experience in coding Architectural Simulation Tools for Processors or SoC components
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)

 

Education Requirements:

 

Bachelors degree with 1-2 relevant industry internships, or Masters degree. Emphasis in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with Computer Architecture background.
