AMD’s Xilinx Runtime library (XRT) provides software interface to AMD AI included in x86 CPU SoCs and AMD-Xilinx Versal based products. As part of XRT team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing Xilinx RunTime (https://github.com/Xilinx/XRT) user space, Linux and Windows kernel driver code and firmware for hardware accelerators. The XRT software stack spans from high-level modern C++ APIs, Python APIs, HIP APIs, and OpenCL through a modularized implementation layer that interfaces with kernel driver code running on host and firmware running on the accelerator hardware. The team is looking to welcome a talented, self-driven, motivated, hands-on software engineer who is comfortable in large scale C/C++ development and code architecture. Our team thrives in a fast-paced agile environment, and you must share our enthusiasm for developing high performance, easy-to-use, scalable, and extensible tools using modern software development technologies and practices. 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for Software engineering development, and is diligent and passionate about Technology. A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge in computer technologies, leadership skills in technical areas, and SW engineering expertise as well as a strong ability to compete effectively in a fast-paced, relevant environment while working with different teams of engineers and collaborators. If you are passionate about delivering Windows and Linux commercial software in C/C++, we are looking for you. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Design and implement high-performance runtime features for AIE-enabled devices that accelerate ML workloads. 

• Work with technical leads and others to converge on the design and implementation of runtime software components. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement and debug software stack on AIE-enabled device as required. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Proficiency in C/C++, CMake and experience using multiple languages and programming paradigms. 
• Knowledge of ML is a plus. 
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows user-space, system level programming, and device drivers. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• BS/MS in CS, ECE, EE or related fields

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
