SOFTWARE SYSTEM DESIGNER 1 

 

THE ROLE: 

The MN RAID team is responsible for development, quality assurance and validation of the RAID UEFI, Windows / Linux drivers and GUI applications, for AMD laptops, desktops and workstations that support the AMD RAID solution. As a CQE in this team, you will work on the latest hardware and software. We are a vertically integrated team spanning from firmware development, right up to application layer. As a part of this world class team, you will get an exposure to the fascinating world of RAID. In this role, you will be actively participating in research, concept development and design ideation to create world class software and firmware.

 

THE PERSON: 

You are a self-starter who is able to achieve successful outcomes in a non-hierarchical environment.  Detailed oriented, you have the ability to multitask through planning/organizing.  You have excellent communication and presentation skills and a passion to push the limits of software on innovative platforms. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Candidate’s primary responsibility is validating the AMD RAID UEFI, Windows, Linux drivers and GUI applications.
  • Validation includes – Windows and Linux RAID installations, standard RAID functionality and test case validation.
  • Sustain the design, development, integration, testing and deployment of AMD RAID solution.
  • Includes cross cultural communication with vendor and customer.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Good understanding of Windows operating systems, Windows hardware/software debugging an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Good working knowledge of RAID.
  • Python, Shell Scripting, BIOS knowledge an added advantage.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on more than one task in parallel.
  • Ability to mentor technically.
  • Must be self-starter.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Working with geographical teams.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent
