The DICE Sound department is looking for an intern to join us in our mission to create amazing sounding games and experiences. You are driven, curious, creative and have a passion for creating sounds. You are a problem solver and have a strong willingness to learn more about audio as a craft.
As an intern, you will be a part of the DICE sound department where you will design sounds for our games, learn our tools and workflows, experience what it is like to work in an audio team in a AAA games studio as well as be given mentoring from more senior team members. You are also an excellent listener and thrive in a collaborative creative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Working under a Lead sound designer, you will work within a small and well defined area of a project's sound design.
- You will create content in line with existing designs and audio direction and implement this into the game using the Frostbite game engine.
- Through playtesting and feedback sessions you will refine the content and its supporting logic to ensure it is fit for purpose and improve quality.
- As a part of the Audio team, you will provide and respond to Audio feedback and be an active mixer for your assets, and provide feedback on the title's overall mix.
- The internship is a non-paid and temporary employment.
Qualifications:
- You must currently be enrolled at a university or education provider in Sweden that has a planned internship period. For example, LiA.
- You are eligible to work in Stockholm, Sweden, without the need for visa/relocation support.
- Available to start in January 2025.
Desired skills:
- Experience of designing sounds for interactive or linear media.
- Proficient skills with modern studio hardware, editing and designing techniques, and software such as Reaper, ProTools, Sound Forge, Waves, IzoTope RX.
- Desire to develop your game audio production, implementation, and engineering skills.
- Outstanding "critical listening" skills.
- Knowledge of audio middleware, e.g. WWISE, FMOD, Unreal, Unity are beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of graphical audio programming, e.g. Reaktor, Max-MSP, Pure Data, is beneficial.
