The opportunity
As the IT SOX Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our IT controls comply with SOX regulations, working closely with IT, security, and audit teams to design and implement effective controls. You’ll be responsible for managing IT general controls (ITGCs), automating control processes, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure systems like ERP, and access management. Short-term success will involve quickly assessing our current IT control environment and successfully managing audits with a focus on IT systems. Long-term success will come from continuously improving IT processes, implementing control automation, and ensuring that our IT systems are compliant, secure, and audit-ready at all times.
You’ll have a significant impact on the IT and audit teams by strengthening IT controls, fostering a proactive approach to compliance, and mitigating technology-related risks. What you'll be doing
- Overseeing SOX Compliance – Manage the design, implementation, and assess the effectiveness of IT and business-related controls to ensure SOX compliance across key systems.
- Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams – Work closely with IT, finance, and business leaders to align SOX controls with business processes and objectives.
- SOX Documentation and Control Evaluation – Perform SOX documentation, including risk and controls matrices and process flowcharts, and evaluate controls as new systems are developed or processes change.
- Control Impact Assessment and Design Guidance – Assist in the evaluation of new processes, policies, and systems to determine its impact on the SOX control environment and assist process owners in designing the control landscape based on identified risks
- Facilitating Audit Readiness – Ensure the team and systems are always prepared for internal and external audits, proactively addressing potential issues and maintaining clear communication with auditors.
What we're looking for
- CPA
- Big 4 external or internal audit background, with significant emphasis on SOX ITGCs.
- Solid understanding of SOX and internal control concepts
- Strong collaboration skills, working across IT, finance, and business teams to ensure effective SOX control environments.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
