THE ROLE:  

AMD’s Computing and Graphics Central Engineering (CGC) team is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to contribute to our automation initiatives across products. As an automation engineer, you will be a key player in designing and implementing automation solutions that improve the efficiency and quality. This role involves developing automation frameworks, integrating new tools and processes, and collaborating with various engineering teams to streamline workflows. You'll bring hands-on experience and technical expertise to create scalable automation systems that drive operational excellence.

 

THE PERSON:  

As a Senior Automation Engineer in Systems Design Engineering, you'll be responsible for helping to build, deploy, and scale automation solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient, maintainable automation processes that reduce manual overhead and improve product quality. You’ll bring your experience in automation tools, scripting, web technologies and cloud platforms to continuously improve our systems and support a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Design and develop automation frameworks and systems that support diverse workloads across AMD’s Computing and Graphics product lines.
  • Ensure that automation solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet the demands of large-scale solution.
  • Document automation designs, processes, and lessons learned. Share knowledge and training materials to improve team skills and capabilities.
  • Help implement best practices for automation, assist with prototyping and testing, and contribute to the continuous improvement of automation tools.
  • Enhance and scale our automation solution to support diverse workloads on GPUs and CPUs
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers within and outside the team to design solutions that address complex automation challenges.
  • Work on functional design, process design, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures.
  • Articulate and document the solutions and lessons learned for each solution delivered

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Proven experience designing and implementing automation solutions, with hands-on expertise in Python, Web technologies and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and web technologies that support automation at scale
  • Familiarity with development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and experience with tools like Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong aptitude and penchant for problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience with silicon validation or power/performance analysis would be a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex automation solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical or related discipline
