THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Senior Director of AI (Generative AI) to lead our Modeling team focusing on Large Language Models (LLM).
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and leading a world-class research and engineer team focusing on LLM and foundation models, with a strong publication record on top-tier research venues.
Experience with the latest state-of-the-art foundation models specially in the area of LLM and Vision is a must. In addition to deep knowledge in model alignment, fine-tuning and research trends. We are looking for a leader with deep expertise in training large language model.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting the vision and strategy for developing large foundation models across different domains, such as natural language, computer vision, and multimodal data.
- Leading a team of researchers and engineers who are working on cutting-edge techniques for training at scale, fine-tuning, evaluating, and releasing large foundation models.
- Collaborating with other teams and stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities and develop strategies in improving platform and infrastructures for large foundation model development.
- Communicating and presenting the results and impact of large foundation models and AI to internal and external audiences.
- Establishing best practices and standards for ensuring the quality, reliability, fairness, and ethics of large foundation models and AI.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of experience in leading a research team in the area of machine learning or related field.
- Strong technical expertise in NLP and related fields, especially in generative AI.
- A proven track record of publishing high-quality papers in top-tier conferences and journals in machine learning and related fields.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to work collaboratively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, ability to coordinate internally and externally.
- A strong ability to mentor, coach, and inspire a diverse and talented team of researchers and engineers.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
A PhD or Master plus equivalent experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field.
