THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced leader to manage the development of Optical I/O for next-generation products. The candidate will be responsible for system architecture, optical devices, circuits, packaging, testing, and thermal/mechanical aspects of the optical link.

 

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Effective at leading and getting results
  • Strong cross functional project management skills
  • Working knowledge of AMD Markets, products and IP portfolio as well general industry awareness

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design definition, feasibility, design, and implementation of Optical I/O
  • Lead and grow a team of engineers working on Optical I/O
  • Work with other teams including domain and team leads, architects as needed to ensure interlocked execution
  • Provide additional over-all design mentorship and contribution to shared methodologies

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven industry experience in taking systems with high-speed optical link to high-volume production
  • Breadth of experience in optical device, circuit design, packaging, thermal/mechanical design, and testing
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Relevant academic background (Master degree preferred)
