THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Fellow in system-level SI engineering with demonstrated capability of bringing to market high-volume high-speed signaling solutions for data center class systems. In this role you will work with a central engineering SI team and collaborate across multiple business units in AMD to define and build world-class higher performance products for enterprise and data center markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with SOC architects and data center BU’s to define system level channel topologies
  • Assess and make tradeoffs on channel construction, cables, risers, mezzanines, backplanes, etc
  • Take product definitions from Concept through to Production
  • Define simulation and validation requirements for each channel
  • Correlation of measured performance with pre-hardware simulation to drive continuous improvement in simulation methodologies

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Worked with the fastest data rates for PCIe, DDR and Ethernet
  • Familiar with industry trends for PCB materials and manufacturing
  • Experience with cabling solutions for high speed signaling
  • Strong understanding of channel modeling, extraction tools, simulation techniques
  • Silicon Transmitter and Receiver equalization techniques
  • Statistical based high-volume margin measurements and extrapolation to prove very low field defects

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred
