Design, test, and/or optimize operating systems-level software, embedded systems, or firmware for the development of next-generation semiconductor products. Duties include: perform complex software engineering tasks to contribute to the development of firmware components (bios, security features, etc.), diagnostics, and/or solutions; leverage firmware/system software development expertise to support verification, silicon bring-up, validation, and/or design testing, throughout various stages of the silicon design cycle; work with cross-functional engineering teams to design, implement, verify, or test key features related to power management, system management, memory management, performance, or security; help troubleshoot complex system-level issues to ensure platform integration and HW/SW compatibility; show technical leadership on defined portions of large collaborative engineering projects related to the development of AMDs next generation products; and communicate the status of product development projects and related interdependencies to management or senior engineers within the team.
Amount and type of experience required:
Master’s degree in Computer science, computer engineering, electronics engineering, or electrical engineering. Foreign equivalent degree accepted.
Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related role.
Alternate Education and experience accepted:
Bachelor's plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related role.
