Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Manager FAE/Field Support to Sell business goods or services, the selling of which requires a technical background equivalent to a baccalaureate degree in engineering. Lead FAEs supporting Strategic Mega Datacenter Customers (MDC) and Named accounts. Articulate the benefits of AMD based technology offerings for the cloud service provider and MDC market verticals. Provide hands-on, expert-level technical guidance to systems engineers and application developers. Collaborate with other AMD subject matter authorities to tackle specific customer challenges. Lead technical design sessions; architect and detail technical solutions that are aligned with end- user objectives. Design, install and test solutions in-house, as needed, to ensure successful deployments and evaluations. Design and lead the execution of evaluations to ensure a quality solution is delivered, providing technical assistance to sales for overall account strategy based on AMD datacenter solutions. Gather a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and clearly articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition associated with AMD versus our competitors. Utilize knowledge and experience with computers and electronics, including platform and end user workload optimization, cultivating a deep technical understanding of x86 server platform and processor SOC architecture, the Linux operating system, common cloud and MDC workloads, and performance profiling and monitoring utilities. Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, computer information systems, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Five (5) of experience in the job offered or as a System Architect, System Analyst, or closely related position.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, computer information systems, or related field and seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a System Architect, System Analyst, or closely related position.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
With either combination of education or experience, position requires five (5) years of experience with the following technologies:
- SOC Architecture, CPU Architecture, or GPU Architecture;
- APIs, Compilers, or Kernels;
- Troubleshooting and analyzing microprocessor performance;
- Unix or Linux environments;
- Programming and Debugging in C; and
- GNU toolchain.
