Sr. Manager of EPYC CPU Planning 

 

The Role:

AMD is searching for a Sr. Manager of EPYC CPU Planning who will help to define and drive our EPYC Datacenter strategy and roadmap. This person will join the Server Planning and Architecture organization, a tightly knit team of highly motivated seasoned and high-output professionals who collectively drive AMD’s Datacenter technology and product strategy. The success of the planning team is built on ownership and delivery of results for the rapidly growing server business. The team operates in deep partnership with stakeholders across architecture, engineering, and operations.

 

The Person:

An ideal candidate for this role will be a self-directed, high-output individual with a technical and business background in datacenter servers and experience in engineering and/or architecture. Additional key attributes for success in our fast-paced culture include:

 

  • Executive presence and credibility needed to influence senior leadership in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to synthesize and convey highly technical concepts into proposal, requirements, and action plans
  • Exceptional communication skills – both listening and written / verbal – to facilitate alignment with a range of internal stakeholders
  • Skill in analyzing tradeoffs and making analytical, fact-based recommendations that have substantial technical, business, and financial impacts

 

Ability to build relationships with strategic customers and partners to ensure that AMD datacenter CPU products meet or exceed the evolving needs of the market

 

Collaboration skills to engage a team of engineering, architecture, and business development professionals to achieve outstanding business results.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Own and deliver the AMD plan of record for the EPYC products on the roadmap and drive product definition through the corporate development process
  • Collect, synthesize, and align requirements through collaboration with definition partner OEMs and key customers
  • Develop and articulate the value proposition for EPYC products
  • Analyze and understand unique requirements of key applications and workloads to specify and drive alignment with server business priorities

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Five or more years in computer design or validation, and/or product planning
  • Working knowledge of modern server platform architecture
  • Experience (or interest) in the business management of technology products

 

Academic Credentials:

Education: BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
