THE ROLE:  

AMD is looking for a senior engineering manager to help accelerate our customers by leading the effort to deliver a unified inference engine platform that can be leveraged as part of first and third-party inference engines and can also be consumed in-house at AMD to power a GPUs as a Service.  

  

THE PERSON:  

The ideal candidate should be passionate about working with customers as they will need to work closely with them to help close their immediate needs which may take the form of solutions/blueprints as we build more of a product over the long-term. The ideal candidate should be hands-on as the team is still new and growing – meaning that the manager will need to be coding as well. 

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Be responsible for the technical strategy of our MLOps platform and its usage within AMD 
  • Work directly with customers to iterate on requirements and creating technical solutions to their problems. 
  • Manage key contributors to MLOps platform effort with the option of pulling in other sub-areas over time.  

Contribute to adjacent open-source projects taking leadership roles within them as needed 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • 10+ years of experience 
  • Passion for developing people 
  • Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail 
  • Prior leadership experience guiding teams to develop infrastructure 
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills  
  • Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills  
  • Experience with managed Kubernetes 

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Expertise in working directly with enterprise customers to iterate on requirements and providing solutions while working towards a longer-term supported product 
  • Experience or leadership in developing in Open Source 
  • Experience with IaC such as Terraform
