THE ROLE:
We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and creative leader who will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing an engineering team that is working with variant engineering teams for post-silicon power and performance optimization at silicon level.
This role will manage both AMD internal team to drive for high efficiency and solid performance that includes but not limited to engineer resource planning and management, team leadership and guidance in the execution of power and performance optimization to achieve the final attainment, all data delivery, analysis and process management across different AMD’s APU and GPU product lines.
THE PERSON:
We are looking for a dynamic, upbeat silicon power and performance optimization manager to join our growing team passionate about delivering best in class APU and GPU to the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a hardworking team passionate optimizing silicon power and performanc on both APU and GPU at post-silicon team.
- Oversee a team starting from a dozen engineers, to support and mentor current members, hire and train new members, build action plans for achieving goals, and develop the team with both capability and capacity resilience.
- Participate and play critical role in resource prioritization and task planning, and providing day-to-day oversight for the team, with specific responsibilities for the schedule, quality, process, and the team culture build-up.
- Drive debug, analysis and resolution for power and performance optimization across silicon, system boards, firmware, BIOS, driver, OS, etc.
- As power and performance is a cross functions domain, this leader will communicate and lead the collaboration amongst different domain technical leads for the meaningful results and drive the team for on time with quality delivery.
- Coordinate/lead closely with peers & seniors to ensure timely and effective communication of all assigned work activities.
- Develops regular status representing the power and performance optimization team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- At least 10 years of engineering experience in semiconductor or AMD client product relevant industry.
- Minimal 5 years of experience in people management role and team size is no less than 10. Multiple domains management experience is a strong plus.
- Be familar with silicon power and performance design and development. The field or related working experience and knowledge are strong references.
- Deep understanding of x86 or GPU architecture with at least one function domain design and development experience in depth.
- Strong project management experience in the field of research and development. PMP or Scrum Master is a plus.
- Excellent at building up new process, defining key performance metrics, and monitoring and driving for deliver
- Solid experience in driving efficiency and innovation in execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-driven and be able to deal with a high-level of ambiguity.
- Ability to work with a geographically diverse team.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred
