SENIOR PRODUCT APPLICATION ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
We are looking for A Product Applications Engineer (PAE) to provide technical support for Xilinx FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays), SoCs (System on a Chip), and ACAPs (Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform) as well as the associated Xilinx tools, software drivers, and IP (Intellectual Property). The PAE works with customers, field engineers, technical marketing, and factory engineers in a worldwide team to rapidly resolve complex technical issues. The PAE enables customers to complete their designs and recommends improvements to AMD products. The environment is fast moving with a focus on emerging technologies.
THE PERSON:
As a PAE you will deliver application support to our growing customer base for the next generation of products AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is producing. In this high visibility position, your expertise will be necessary to define application products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions.
Detailed Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Provide direct technical support on critical design issues.
- Work in a team environment in identifying customer problems and proposing appropriate solutions
- Provide customers advice on alternative design techniques and the implementation of solutions
- Provide information and data on a variety of Xilinx products
- Provide solutions for specific design needs
- Work on specific tactical projects for key design programs
- Provide input to product development teams
- Handle customer escalations and tactical software patch requests
- Summarize and providing customer feedback to development teams
- Handle all escalations in expertise area and be able to understand system level details to handle problems and guide them to closure
- Communicate technical information in an organized and understandable fashion
- Customer oriented approach with a demonstrated concern and desire to work with and assist customers
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and track many activities
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Qualifications Required: - BS/MS in Computer or Electrical Engineering required
- 5+ years of applications engineering or related design experience
Technical Skills :
- Hands-on experience on any one or more IPs - Video, Ethernet, GT with knowledge on associated drivers
- Very good understanding of FPGA design flow and tools
- Xilinx Vivado, Vitis/SDK or other FPGA design and development tools experience
- HDL, Synthesis, timing, place and route, simulation, FPGA and board-level power and signal analysis
- IP usage/Integration, configuration, High Speed IO Interfaces, Signal Integrity, Board and chip-level debug, Integrated Logic Analyser
- ASIC/FPGA design or verification experience – VHDL or Verilog
- Provide direct technical support on critical design issues.
