Job Description:

Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products.  Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life.  Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution.  Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.  Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.  Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.  Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.  Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Degree required: 

Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering (foreign equivalent degree accepted).

Skills required:

Education or experience with the following technologies and/or skills: C, HDL, VLSI, microprocessors, CAD, CMOS design, and RTL design.

Employer will accept skills gained in furtherance of a university-level degree via coursework, research, internship, or theses.  Skills may be gained concurrently.
