PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
Product Engineers are critical in driving cost, quality, and time-to-market KPIs during new product bring up. The work for a Client Product Engineer is particularly dynamic and there are multiple product launches in a year, so the work is both exciting and rewarding. You will be expected to work with design, system architects and test owners to develop product definition and test coverage to meet customers’ performance and quality requirements. You will spend most of your day on data analytics to provide recommendation for product definition, yield improvement and characterization observation.
THE PERSON:
We are looking for someone with the will to overcome challenging problems and strong appetite for technical knowledge. A results-oriented engineer with good stakeholder management skills which are crucial when interfacing with various teams across AMD. A strong and effective communicator, both verbal and written, which are essential when working with a global team. A proactive, outstanding teammate who focuses on teamwork, team building and growing team success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with design and system architects for product definition lock.
- Work with test owners for characterization requirements and final production test coverage.
- Drive yield step-up across wafer sort, final test, and system level test to achieve committed yield targets.
- Perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature.
- Perform simulation for distribution improvement plans.
- Drive DPPM initiatives to meet external DPPM goal, including supporting qualification activities and customer return debug.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Familiar with Microelectronics topics and basic fabrication processes.
- Strong data analytic capability (machine learning, data mining, data visualization, etc.).
- Proficient in programming/scripting languages (C, C++, Java, Ruby, Perl, Python).
- Knowledgeable in statistical analysis (six sigma, etc.).
- Proficient in Windows and Unix based operating systems.
- Knowledgeable in modern computer architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate with differing experience will also be considered.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines
