The Role:

The Server Product Analyst will support product planning and analytics for the Server Product Management team, most substantially through scaling the implementation of the IBM Planning Analytics application.  In this highly collaborative role, you will work with Information Technology, Operations, Engineering, Business Development, and Product leads to support Business Management programs and tooling on a daily basis.

 

The Person:

A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop technical solutions and lead small to large scale implementations with team members from different teams in the Server Business Unit.  The role requires clear confident communication, a highly analytical approach, and a mindset for continuous improvement.  You will work with cross-organizationally to streamline business processes, drive best practices, and have a natural inclination to solve process inefficiencies with technical solutions at scale.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead targeted Planning Analytics technical solution design, development, and deployment activities
  • Utilize project management skills to effectively manage schedule, team meetings, and report status
  • Daily PA administration to support existing data connections, workflows, queries, views, and security
  • Monitor IBM/Quebit software releases and lead business users through transitions as needed
  • Support model troubleshooting and training sessions with business users
  • Identify and perform model enhancements to simplify and streamline business decision making
  • Maintain the integrity and clarity of the existing model’s design while implementing solutions
  • Update and document model enhancements at the user level for business leaders
  • Work cross-functionally to understand complex forecast needs and translate into technical solutions
  • Partner with IT business teams to identify best-fit solutions for Cloud infrastructure and connectivity
  • Drive disciplined change management protocol for implementation and stakeholder communication
  • Help prepare executive readouts for program status and key measures in Product Business Forum
  • Develop working knowledge of various AMD systems to support PA scalability

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics, with excellent TM1 Rules and Turbo Integrator development knowledge.
  • Experienced in data flow management systems such as DataWORQ and ReportWORQ
  • With reference to TM1 Rules, must have a complete understanding of the relationship between rules and feeders, external cube references, C: and N: level rule differences.
  • With reference to TM1 Turbo Integrator, must have the ability to write Turbo Integrator script from scratch, including building dimension structures, updating attributes, updating cube values, modifying data source subsets and cube views in code, and writing cube to cube processes to perform batch calculations.
  • Highly organized and methodical with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving mindset with logical reasoning skills from a business user perspective
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environment where solutions are deployed in an agile framework
  • Able to develop positive partnerships with stakeholder teams across AMD
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to convey technical concepts using business acumen
  • Experienced in storytelling and building visualizations to summarize key insights
  • Expert resource in Microsoft Excel using pivot tables, lookups, macros, and power queries
  • Developer knowledge of various BI tools and Operations systems (PowerBI, Tableau, SAP)
  • Hands on experience in data stewardship, database administration, and automation (VBA, SQL, KNIME)
  • Previous work experience with IT, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or other technical field
