SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER
THE ROLE:
In this high visibility role, you will be the overall program leader for key software technology roadmap planning, alignment and change management. You will work across a wide array of engineering and product management teams in building and managing our impressive software roadmap and driving alignment with stakeholders, including AMD senior leadership.
THE PERSON:
The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of planning and delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs. The candidate we are looking for will have demonstrated both the ability and willingness to build deep understanding of complex technologies, features and use-cases, as well as business strategies and priorities. You are skilled in driving alignment activities and conversations, guiding diverse teams in reconciling conflicting priorities and dependencies to achieve consensus, and articulating decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all aspects for SW roadmap management, including: requirements intake, prioritization, alignment, scoping/sizing and engineering commitment activities, securing approvals, publishing etc. based on management and senior technical guidance
- Develop program schedule by considering various SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies. Negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule
- Build, create and maintain a well-developed, managed and executed program plan
- You will establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
- Excellence in resource planning is necessary
- The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
- Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Solid understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
- Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
- Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders
- Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis
- Experience working in a high-pressure environment, competing priorities and aggressive timelines
- Engineering background preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset
- Experience with Agile methodology
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Formal Project Management education, PMP certified
