PLATFORM PROGRAM MANAGER
THE ROLE:
As a Platform Program Manager in Embedded Business Unit, you will be responsible for the planning and logistics of embedded platform/board and system engineering programs supporting AMD IP and customer system solutions. By managing both internal and external deliverables, you will work to ensure all embedded new products are delivered on time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define, plan, and drive schedules for platform and board design, build, and test activities.
- Create and drive logistics for system BOM and test equipment (i.e., critical components, costing, etc.)
- Leads the platform core team that is composed of: supply chain, IP, platform, software, and product management functions.
- Defining cross functional ownership and managing membership and effective performance of the core team
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders in product planning, development, and validation activities.
- Accountable for platform/board development and Silicon IP validation related deliverables and reports regularly on status, decisions, issues, etc. to Engineering and Business leadership.
- Manage internal and external dependencies across all Programs.
- Create, drive and report on team execution metrics.
- Data generation/visualization - Generate & report hardware design and test progress vs targets.
- Support senior management to drive execution excellence, tracking & reporting of key metrics.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Technical background in semiconductor industry with 5 years hands on technical work, 5 years of program management experience and an overall industry experience of 15+ years
- Good understanding of platform/board design, development and Gerber out activities (preferably an x86 based platform)
- Experience in handling the board build and fabrication activities with a contract manufacturer
- Experience in handling of the platform BOM, necessary modifications to it and involved logistics for the same
- Deft in planning, scheduling and tracking of activities for board design teams including assessing and monitoring the risks and dependencies closely
- Handling of cross functional engagements including board bring up, layout, Signal Integrity, Compliance (EMI/EMC, etc.) and external vendor engagements
- Experience in handling the board build and fabrication activities with contract manufacturers.
- Experience with planning and tracking post silicon IP validation (not SW QA) activities
- Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.
- Flexible working schedule to manage global (Asia and North America) program execution teams.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint & MS Project
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Engineering degree in Computer science / Electrical / Electronics & Communications with 15+ years of industry experience
- PMP certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
