SENIOR SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER 

 

THE ROLE: 

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivative design engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Verification Engineering team furthers and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. 

 

THE PERSON: 

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Collaborate with peers such as design engineers, verification engineers, and firmware / validation engineers to understand the new features/support requirements
  • Understand the micro architecture and architecture documentation and understand the design requirements
  • Partition the design into logical modules, design of interfaces and reusable sub-blocks
  • Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with verification and firmware engineers to resolve design defects and correct any design issues 
  • Review functional and code coverage metrics – Review of missing conditions and assist in defining waivers 
  • Work with implementation team to ensure that designs meet timing

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • B.E/M.E/M.Tech or B.S/M.S in EE/ECE with at least 5+ years of relevant experience in IP design
  • Candidate should be having strong RTL design experience
  • Understanding and experience in design of Ethernet protocols and IEEE 802.3 standards both MAC and PCS/PMA
  • Knowledge on Ethernet protocols and standards like 1588, Pause/flow control and speeds from 1GE up to 100GE and beyond
  • Knowledge on high speed serial transceiver GT and interface
  • Domain knowledge of interfaces which include AXI streaming / AXI4-Lite and high Speed serial connectivity etc is a plus
  • Having System level knowledge / designing IP at system level will be a definite plus
  • Knowledge of FPGA architecture and working experience with Xilinx Implementation tools is an added advantage
  • Self-driven, motivated, result oriented individual with superior academic achievements
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, group communication and problem solving skills and very good team player
  • Good organizational and execution skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize and able to work on deadlines with quality deliverables
  • Should have experience in closing timing in the designs
  • Experience in linting, drc/cdc tools is a plus
  • Proficient in debugging the RTL code using simulation tools
  • Good working knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog and VHDL
  • Scripting language experience: Perl, tcl, Makefile, shell preferred

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer / Electronics / Electrical Engineering
