Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineers to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Develop and enhance System Verilog / UVM-based testbenches to verify new features for client server, graphics, and semi-custom interconnects. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Create execute test plans in collaboration with design and verification colleagues in a metric- focused environment. Work in an area of specialization to develop RTL design, working on complex problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:

  • Creating verification IPs, IP verification, SOC verification, or design or implementation of VIP components;
  • Creating text plan, writing text cases, running regression, generating coverage metrics, simulation debugging, and developing UVM RAL models;
  • Planning the verification of complex digital systems, creating a constrained-random verification environment;
  • Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL; and
  • UVM or OVM.
