Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Verify block level and System-on-Chip (SOC) designs Design, develop, and use simulation and verification environments at block and full chip FPGA level to prove the functional correctness of the next generation, cutting- edge SOC design. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Work in an area of specialization to develop ASIC/layout design, working on moderately complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various Xilinx products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering and three (3) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

For either combination of education or experience, position requires one (1) year of experience with the following technologies and/or skills:

  • C,C++, Python, Ruby, or Shell;
  • SOC/system architecture or Computer Architecture;
  • RTL verification, ASIC verification or hardware verification;
  • Analyzing and debugging the failures in simulation using tools like Synopsys VCS, Cadence IES or Mentor Modelsim/Questa;
  • Object oriented programming using System Verilog; and
  • Developing testbench using OVM or UVM.
