Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to develop pre-silicon readiness and post-silicon plan to validate specific IPs/functional blocks within the SOC, covering both functional operation and electrical characteristics. Participate in SOC system level test work including fault simulation, functional test development, system boot sequence, system random test, and functional failure diagnosis. Assist in bring-up and test activities for post-silicon validation. Maintain and document a library of SOC verification, testing, and diagnostics components/tools/evaluation card targeting ARM processors and Xilinx/AMD Micro Blaze. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required:  NONE

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires experience in the following:

  • Logic and circuit design;
  • CMOS transistor design;
  • CAD tools;
  • SOC and System architecture;
  • RTL Design and coding;
  • Verilog, VHDL, or System Verilog;
  • Graphics IP architecture verification;
  • Functional verification of microprocessors;
  • ASIC Design; and
  • Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.

Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, projects, assistantship, or internship experience.
