THE ROLE: 

The Core Markets Engineering team is a fast paced and dynamic group made up of Center of Excellences (CoE) that include Cybersecurity, Functional Safety and Embedded Software. Our charter is to support and develop high quality solutions in each of these CoEs. We are looking for a candidate skilled in hardware/software for security applications. The target platform the candidate will work on includes the state-of-the-art Adaptive SoC.

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for hardware/software engineering development with a cybersecurity focus, and is diligent and passionate about technology. A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge in FPGA and SOC technologies, leadership skills in technical areas, and software engineering expertise. The candidate will have a strong ability to compete effectively in a fast-paced, relevant environment while working with different teams of engineers and collaborators (both internally and externally). 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with engineering to architect reference design solutions for security features on AMD Adaptive SoCs
  • Support development and review of customer facing documentation (User Guides, Application

Notes, White Papers, Security Working Group presentations)

  • Work with 3rd party vendors and internal AMD team in development of Statements of Work for assessments
  • Participate and help engineering resolve customer support cases as needed
  • Participate in Secure Development Lifecycle activities including Threat and Risk Analysis, Penetration Testing, internal red teams, etc.
  • Design and implementation of various penetration attack techniques (for example electromagnetic fault injection, voltage and clock glitching, and side channel analysis)

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Understands the value of collaboration and teamwork
  • Understands the basics of cryptographic algorithms such as AES, SHA, RSA, etc
  • Understands the basics of penetration testing to assess vulnerabilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral 
  • Ability to work in fast paced and fun multitasking environment
  • Experience with the application of security into products and systems
  • Experience in logic fundamentals and FPGA design on AMD products
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce and Git
  • Experience with security certifications and standards (e.g. Common Criteria, FIPS, ISO21434, etc) desired
  • Experience using lab equipment in trouble shooting (oscilloscopes, function and delay generators, schematics, etc)
  • Use of simulation and verification techniques (testbenches, UVM, scripting)
  • Experience in coding with various languages (Verilog, VHDL, C, Perl, Python, TCL, etc)
  • Knowledge working with customer requirements from creation of the requirement to implementation
  • Knowledge of Embedded Hypervisors 
  • Knowledge of Trusted Execution Environment 
  • Knowledge of ARM Trustzone Technology
