SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER  

 

We are looking for strong developers with Windows or Linux/Android device driver experience to join our core 3D graphics driver team in Boxborough, MA.  This team is responsible for delivering drivers for multiple 3D graphics APIs (Direct3D, Vulkan) on multiple OSes (Windows, Linux, Android) for the Radeon family of GPUs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to join a mission-critical team making the latest games run great on AMD hardware across all platforms. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop drivers for existing and upcoming Radeon GPUs. 
  • Debug challenging low level driver, hardware and OS issues. 
  • Optimize performance of important 3D graphics content, especially AAA PC games. 
  • Participate in a team culture that values open communication and strong commitment to code quality. 
  • Collaborate with hardware architects, OS architects, OEM customers, game developers and the opensource community. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCES: 

  • Excellent programming skills, especially low-level C/C++ 
  • General familiarity with 3D Graphics 
  • General familiarity with PC architecture 
  • Strong communication skills 

 

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCES: 

  • Hands-on Direct3D or Vulkan experience  
  • General familiarity with x86 assembler language and x86/x64 CPU instructions 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
