THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a Senior Storage Engineer to join our IT department. Your responsibilities include writing automation code, monitoring system performance, configuring new software and hardware, and designing storage solutions.

 

THE PERSON:

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with various operating systems.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Automate repetitive processes with scripting languages to drive automation and consistency with a focus on Python, REST APIs and Ansible.
  • Install, Configure, Maintain, Tune and Troubleshoot the core storage services including: NetApp (OnPrem, CVO and ANF), Pure Storage (SAN & FlashBlade)
  • Own and drive excellence in Incident / Problem / Change Management of Storage Infrastructure
  • Contribute to evolving standard operating procedures with a focus on problem avoidance. 
  • Provide technical or business analytical leadership for specific storage needs or objectives in order to meet business requirements.
  • Install and Configure Software, upgrade and do patch maintenance. Ensure software license compliance. Provide hardware support (if appropriate) and troubleshooting to isolate problems. Liaise with Vendors to resolve problems.   
  • Provide technical services for customers in complex storage and backup environments. Demonstrate ability to assess technical impact to the project/new technology along with technical risks.
  • Resolve problems with little or no guidance. Independently research and promote specialized technical solutions.
  • Capture and documents end-users requirements
  • Collaborates with vendors and/or systems engineers to actively troubleshoot to resolve operational issues 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience writing automation code
  • Proficiency with Python, Rest APIs, Ansible, SQL
  • Experience with storage technologies (NetApp/Pure), S3, and Cloud storage
  • Knowledge of system security techniques
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Team management abilities

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred
