As a System Development Engineer, you will get the full Amazon experience of defining solutions from first principles through to delivery. You will be able to select the appropriate tools and technologies best suited to solve the problems at hand. You will have full access to all AWS Services and Amazon infrastructure and toolsets. You will help define the processes and best practices for building, performing continuous integration and testing on, and releasing builds. You will also have the opportunity to use your expertise to influence how we design our customer facing technology and tools to enable an optimized pipeline for building and deploying games.
Key job responsibilities
- Maintain various services (including but not limited to Perforce, Atlassian, TestRail, and Incredibuild).
- Configuration and ownership of AWS service accounts, monitoring, and alarms.
- Create and participate in architectural reviews and implement solutions with dependent internal services.
- Long-range planning and deployment of new technologies as needed.
- Improve processes and internal systems across teams and organizations.
- Daily interactions with internal and external customers and problems on related systems.
A day in the life
Your day-to-day involves working closely with Amazonians from all Amazon Game Studios. This involves a few scheduled meetings as well as working with internal customers to resolve issues. Your daily routine includes these interactions as well as maintenance of existing services and deployment of new services.

Irvine, CA, USA- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers
- Excellent communication skills across different teams and technical backgrounds.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience administering Perforce or Git and using Jenkins to manage build pipelines.
- Experience using scripting languages to create end to end solutions.
- Key contributor to production services built on AWS.
- Experience administering Incredibuild or other distributed build processes.
- Experience administering Slack or other corporate communication tools.
- Able to manage development across multi-tenant products between technical operations, game development, and business teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
