SENIOR SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER 

 

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, hands-on engineer to join our growing datacenter CPU team, particularly in the areas of highspeed IO such as PCI Express and Compute Express Link (CXL). You will be part of the team that drives and improves AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering and validation team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.  

 

THE PERSON: 

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards Product development, definition, and root cause resolution. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and execute feature enablement and validation test plans for SoC- and system-level SoC features across all AMD Server products in the area of CXL and PCIe
  • Develop test content for both focus testing as well as system level stress testing of IO domain plus cross product stress testing
  • Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time
  • Debug and drive root-cause analysis for SoC related issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing tools to improve SoC validation and debug
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve post-silicon validation test strategy, methodology, and process

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python) 
  • Debug techniques and methodologies 
  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.  
  • Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization 
  • Knowledge of x86 system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
