THE ROLE:

As a Senior Systems Test Validation Engineer with AMD's Computing and Graphics Engineering teams, you will be exposed to the world’s best Desktop/PC and Mobile CPU, GPU and APU processors for accelerated system computing power. As an AMD Engineer, you will have visibility to cutting edge multi-layered security features, latest processors optimized for gamers and creators, as well as processors optimized for thin and light notebooks.

Come join our world class engineering team responsible for driving AMD’s Shift-Left strategies, planning and execution of our Compute Products, which are used by major OEMs and compute solution customers in the world.

In this role, you have the opportunity to interact with multiple internal teams (PHY, firmware/BIOS, SW, IP, SOC DV, SOC and system architects), as well as external partners (LOGO certification organizations, equipment and component vendors) to plan, build, execute, and debug system use cases, in addition to advancing pre-silicon and post-silicon infrastructure to expand validation capabilities.

 

THE PERSON:

The selected candidate will be self-motivated and who thrives in an environment that requires creative debugging skills, and a passion for improving our overall Shift-Left strategies to achieve both pre-silicon and post-silicon goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Verify and validate hardware products designed and developed in AMD using the standard qualification process developed within the electrical I/O interface compliance group

- Participate in designing/defining/improving all phases of test procedures and methodologies.

-Analyze the failures found in testing and support the internal design team to find the root cause of the issues.

- Characterize and validate various I/O interface on electrical compliance using high speed equipment.

- Communicate with various internal and external partners to resolve anomalies.

- Participate in issuing internal/external releasable test reports.

-Perform the Software and Hardware level test using external and internal AMD test tools, including oscilloscope, analyzer, margin test tools, functional test, etc.

-Interface with standard compliance LOGO bodies to certify AMD products.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

-Experience in video/graphics product development and sustaining, system level hardware, software design, and automation.

-Solid background in IC technology

-Familiarity with Linux is an asset.

-Proficient in using all MS operating systems and the configuration/setting of PCs.

-Good written and oral communication skills

-Self-motivated and able to work independently and effectively to meet product schedule requirement.

-Extreme proficiency in using electronic equipment such as high-speed digital oscilloscope, logic/network analyzer, Bert scope class of receiver test equipment as well excellent in reading electronic schematics and electronic component data sheet specifications.

-Proficient in electrical compliance on Display Port, HDMI, PCIE, USB4.  Understanding of CTS of IO Domains

-Prefer 1-3 years of experience in engineering / computing.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor of Applied Science / Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science, or equivalent
