THE ROLE:

In this role, you will be responsible for the technological and strategic vision for our open source collateral. A key responsibility of this role is aligning the technical details of the AECG embedded software stack on our Adaptive SoC and FPGA products. Candidates must have a strong understanding of general open source software community and development. This is a cross-functional role that involves engagement of many different stakeholders, including worldwide technical support, embedded software engineering, and customer-facing field/sales engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with engineering, technical support, and program management stakeholders to achieve alignment for open source software development and deployment
  • Work with the sales/technical sales team to help resolve customer technical questions and participate in customer visits/presentations Occasional travel may be needed
  • Perform hands-on testing, prototyping, and evaluation of open source embedded software solutions
  • Participate in product development by working closely with marketing and embedded software engineering on related design documents
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of related user guides, application notes, and technical modules

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven number of years experience in embedded software experience combined with years of experience with open source software in an embedded systems context
  • Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills; ability to lead technical discussions and up-level outcomes for executive-level status reporting
  • Strong knowledge of open source best practices such as license requirements, upstreaming, mailing list participation, and build systems (ex: Yocto Project or Build Root)
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems topics such as bootloaders (ex: U-Boot and UEFI environments), embedded firmware, and system bring-up
  • Experience with Linux concepts such as device tree overlays and FPGA manager is preferred
  • Experience with FPGA design and soft IP interfaces such as AHB, AMBA, and AXI is an asset
  • Previous experience with AMD (Xilinx) Vivado, Vitis, or PetaLinux is an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset 
  • Training or experience with Pragmatic Marketing (or other data-driven product requirements development) is an asset

  • BE/B.Tech/ME/MTECH/MS or equivalent CS/ECE/CPE/EE
