Meet the Creators and Admins Team! 

The mission of the Creators and Admins Team is to provide tools to enhance the experience of users that facilitate communities and content on our platform. We look for ways to redefine what it is to be a contributor and push the boundaries of our offerings. Content is the lifeblood of Fandom. It brings consumers to our sites. Creators create and edit the content, moderators defend against spam and vandalism, administrators organize efforts, and staff keep the wheels moving. Big or small, every contribution from these highly engaged users is important as they have meaningful impact on communities and our business goals.


As a Staff Software Engineer, you will report to our Manager, Software Engineering.


You are experienced full-stack developer willing to write most of the code in JavaScript but also open to take a look at backend written in PHP/Java. You are product-focused and have passion about delivering well-structured, tested, maintainable and useful software



You Will...

  • Provide high-quality, tested, and maintainable code
  • Work in an environment where you have direct influence on product and technical decisions
  • Make decisions based on data and run A/B tests to validate ideas
  • Lead technical design and direction of our system implementation
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Consult for other teams and share knowledge across the organization
  • Identify risks and opportunities to improve the team's technical approach
  • Identify and propose engineering improvements in their area(s) of expertise
  • Give feedback to your peers, sharing knowledge with others, providing mentorship and advice to other engineers
  • Provide technical leadership within your team and ensure the technical quality of your team's deliverables are met
  • Work and gain experience in our stack, using the right technology for the job
  • We have not only PHP and JS in our stack, but you can also try your hand at Java, React, Python, and Go, and gain experience with technologies like Kubernetes


You Have...

  • Min 5+ years of server-side web frameworks and languages experience; willing to write JS, React
  • Mentor skills
  • Experienced with developing large-scale, highly-trafficked and dynamic websites and systems
  • Experience with resolving technical and operational issues
  • You have a desire to make a significant impact
  • A business-oriented engineer
  • Focused on code quality and automated testing
  • Upper-intermediate English level


Bonus points if you have...

  • Experience with other programming languages such as PHP, Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Go
