THE ROLE: 

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for category planning and strategic sourcing of third-party IP licensed for our products. Your main focus will be to develop a global procurement strategy and implement a supplier development program that coordinates a long-term approach to cost, quality, and service. Additionally, you will negotiate pricing, service levels, master license agreements, and statements of work. The key to success in this role is developing strong relationships with both internal customers and external suppliers.

THE PERSON: 

As a driven self-starter, you excel at identifying sourcing opportunities and leading sourcing initiatives with key partners, requiring minimal management involvement. Your exceptional negotiation and communication skills are vital in this role. Furthermore, you are an excellent communicator and collaborator who can present to audiences at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: In this position, you will collaborate with business units to determine cost targets for third-party IP licenses. Your responsibilities will include leading the strategic sourcing process & analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction, negotiating agreements, and statement of work for the category. You will also manage supplier performance to meet contractual requirements which align with our short- and long-term needs and implement contracts to minimize risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance.

  • Develop a comprehensive commodity strategy that addresses the requirements of team members
  • Develop and present recommendations on sourcing strategies and requirements planning using analytics
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and statements of work with suppliers, internal clients, and legal support
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes
  • Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers and manage the quarterly scorecard to review service levels in terms of cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility
  • Implement all activities related to Source-to-Pay, ensuring orders are issued and invoiced promptly
  • Understand cross-functional and cross-site business processes to support operational (PO) process execution, and participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Conduct business reviews with strategic suppliers
  • Prepare Executive award summary and present for approvals

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will possess intermediate to senior-level experience in sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for third-party IP license agreements.

  • Indirect sourcing and negotiation experience in a strategic sourcing role
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating third-party IP licenses in the semiconductor industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of SoC architecture and design methodology is preferred
  • Commodity Strategy Planning
  • Contract Negotiation
  • Source to Pay
  • Market Analytics
  • Experience with SAP Ariba Sourcing is preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
