Your Mission

As a Manager of Studio Accounting you will play a critical role in the Activision Blizzard controller & accounting office as well as the worldwide Finance Team. Overall, the responsibility of this role is to (1) partner with compensation teams in order to lead the accounting for the company’s various bonus programs, including collaborating with the FP&A teams to ensure bonus expenses are forecasted properly, (2) partner with studio finance teams to administer capitalized software accounting policy to supervise and run capitalization of costs associated with games in development, and (3) ensure that we have aligned with all accounting requirements under US GAAP and global accounting policies as it relates to areas of responsibility. The role will also have the opportunity in the future to gain experience with the company’s revenue recognition and analysis. You will work closely to partner with the business units across the company to ensure a deep understanding of our business activities associated with games in-development, address accounting and finance related issues, and will have interaction insight to Business Unit leadership.

What you bring to the table

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the review of various bonus program calculations and related accounting entries & reconciliations during fast paced monthly closes
  • Work closely with studio finance teams to lead end to end process for capitalization and amortization of costs associated with games in development, including internal reporting to Microsoft Corporate Accounting team
  • Supervise a studio accounting supervisor to ensure timely and accurate preparation of internal reporting results associated with the company’s bonus programs & capitalized software costs
  • Work in partnership with business units & finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting of bonus program expenses and capitalized software costs
  • Support internal and external audit process and requests as needed for areas of responsibility

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • CPA with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting
  • Minimum experience of 5 years with one of the Big 4 accounting firms and/or commercial experience at the Manager level
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills and ability to work with complex models
  • Experience in managing a team

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to analyze financial results and relationships between accounts
  • Standout colleague with experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to effectively get results
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Able to optimally handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience in software accounting

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $87,480.00 - $161,910.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
