THE ROLE: 

 

Be part of a high-performance global logistics team that handles freight movement across our multiple sites and shipment to our global end customers. The team is part of AMD’s supply chain, and we encompass support including, but not limited to freight spends compilation, tariffs record, and cost analysis. We work closely with other Supply Chain stakeholders and our Finance team for data review and process improvement. This role compiles and does in-depth analysis of freight spend & other expenses, along with identifying discrepancies, red flags and cost savings opportunity then following up with recommendation to get operations buy-in.  

 

THE PERSON: 

 

The candidate must have good analytical skills, be good with numbers, meticulous and with a keen eye for detail to process vast amounts of data within a brief time. A proactive person with positive can-do mentality who can streamline or standardize processes then work towards automation to transform existing manual processes. Independent contributor but is also able to work well in a team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Freight operations support (90% air freight, 9% trucking, 1% ocean freight)
  • Work with 3PL warehouse, freight providers and/or relevant stakeholders to resolve shipment issues
  • Respond promptly to stakeholders for shipment queries, issues, etc
  • Service recovery
  • Manage performance of 3PL transportation team and freight providers
  • Enhancement requests (operations and systems)
  • Error prevention
  • Preparation of shipment reports

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Min 3 years work experience in similar capacity
  • Air freight operations support experience
  • Working knowledge of shipping documents preparation and incoterms
  • Able to support on weekends during peak periods for urgent shipments
  • Able to respond professionally in emails, meetings, calls, etc
  • Comfortable to attend meetings with 3PL warehouse, freight providers and global stakeholders
  • Willing to travel to ALPS if needed for warehouse visit and on quarter end days
  • Independent, responsible, resourceful and fast learner with a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of customs permit and FTZ requirements
  • Working experience in a logistics firm handling air freight or managing semi-con customer accounts
  • Knowledge of SAP system

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Diploma/Degree in related field
