System debug lead
THE ROLE:
The System debug lead will oversee the Server DPPM datacenter debug at AMD. In this role you will lead the DPPM debug of AMD server processor. The DPPM debug lead will be responsible for driving improvements in the debug process working with HW System Engineering teams and other stakeholders ).
THE PERSON:
The AMD Server platform validation team is looking for a dynamic DPPM debug leader to join our growing team focused on the Zen CPU. The individual needs to have a strong understanding of the general silicon manufacturing engineering process. A successful candidate must also possess outstanding verbal, as well as written, communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and train a small group of engineers in failure analysis in System Level test in Data Center processors.
- Responsible for root-cause of key product issues, manufacturing blockers in a Datacenter Center environment.
- Manage and track technical issues, risks, and priorities. Manage executive communications, including program status, risks, and opportunities.
- Improve debug capabilities and methodology over time by identifying common challenges or impediments to efficient debug and working with partner organizations to drive innovation in platform architecture, design, tools, and methods.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in product and test engineering, specialize in silicon debug or FA/FI
- Experience in semiconductor debug, fault isolation, failure analysis and/or product engineering yield debug.
- Good understanding of PC platform hardware, Operating System, Device Drivers, and System BIOS interactions.
- Linux and scripting languages knowledge (Python, Perl, or Ruby).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Demonstrable experience as technical team lead.
- Strong probability and statistics background including DOE’s.
- Knowledgeable in DFD and DFT technologies.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related major with 5+ years of applicable experience.
