THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a System Power Delivery Architect to drive the board level power delivery solutions for AMD’s Client products. 

 

THE PERSON: 

Someone who can see the “big picture” and how everything fits together. Someone who works well with people from a wide variety of functional areas within AMD and externally with customers/partners.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Primary technical contact point for system/platform level power delivery solutions
  • Responsible for defining the power delivery requirements for internal validation platforms
  • Comprehends VR efficiency, cost, board area requirements, and solution availability in power delivery architecture requirements
  • Defines and documents platform power infrastructure requirements for AMD’s Client SoCs
  • Works with SoC power architects and power management architects to ensure that the overall power delivery solution for a platform is optimized at the system level
  • Works with 3rd party VR and power delivery vendors to understand the technical capabilities of their product offerings and to influence their future products to align with AMD requirements 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 8+ years of PC and/or tablet experience 
  • Experience architecting power delivery solutions for platforms 
  • Knowledgeable on the architecture of PC platforms 
  • Familiar with industry standards specifications related to power interfaces and power manageability.
  • Familiar with battery charging and management.
  • A mixture of SoC and system board experience
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion. 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering
